Maria Lampropoulos must be the owner of one of the most impressive learning curves in poker. It’s quite possible we are now looking at one of the great female Poker players. Maria had a massive poker career at a very small time period & she was the only women to be crowned at the PCA Main Event in its 13 year history. From this win, the talented Argentinian Woman Poker Player took an award at home winning $1,081,100.00. This sets her 3rd on all time Argentinian money win list and she places 45th at the GPIR (Global Poker Index Ranking). No doubt Maria made the Best in Female Poker Players List.
Lampropoulos was up against an extremely impressive but difficult final table line up, which included three-time WSOP bracelet winner Adrian Mateos, the well-known German high roller Koray Aldemir, and a WPT winner Shawn Buchanan. Maria Lampropoulos won against Shawn Buchanan heads up against the odds with Buchanan holding a 2-1 chip lead against her. After several double ups, Maria Lampropoulos had the chip lead. Maria called Buchanan’s shove one final time with her ten / seven Shawn turned over king five. A ten hit the flop and Lampropoulos was crowned PCA Main Event Champion.
Winning one million in a tournament is every poker player’s dream. Winning one million twice and within just 9 months is surreal. How did this remarkable woman poker player get to this moment? Let’s rewind a bit.
Back in November 2014 Lampropulos cashed in her first tournament. It was the R$3000 BSOP Millions Main Event in Sao Paulo, and Lampropulos wound up taking 188th place for R$ 7,350 ($2,913).
From that day, Lampropoulos never looked back. Her accomplishments include:
– Runner-up in the Women’s Event at PCA 2015 for $6,420
– 1st in a $600 LAPT Event in March 2015 for $12,347
– Runner-up in WPT National Brussels in February 2016 for $75,067

And how can we forget all the top 10 finishes around the globe? Becoming the winner of the Partypoker millions in Nottingham for a jaw dropping one million pounds sterling has been one of the highlights of Maria’s career until now. This is enough for a shout out to Lampropoulos on a very inspirational and an impressive career performance.
